Breskens Sailing Weekend 2025

The Breskens Sailing Weekend is a vibrant international sailing event that takes place every year at the end of August along the Zeeland-Flanders coast. For three days – from Friday to Sunday – it’s all about sailing, atmosphere, and fun in and around the marina of Breskens.
What to expect during the Breskens Sailing Weekend
- Spectacular Sailing Races: Watch thrilling races from the shore or from the water, as international teams from the Netherlands, Belgium, and beyond compete. Both inshore and offshore sailors compete in various classes including IRC, ORC, CR, and double‑handed.
- Official Championship: On course A, the Open Dutch IRC Championship is held, while on course B cruiser-racers and double-handed crews battle it out in a more relaxed yet competitive setting.
- Lively Marina Atmosphere: Around the harbour, enjoy a maritime festival vibe with food trucks, live music, cosy terraces, and encounters with sailors and fans from all over Europe.
- Accessible for Spectators: Experience the action up close from the quay, or enjoy panoramic views by the sea. Tip: combine your visit with a walk along the beach or a bike ride through the scenic Zeeland countryside.
- Fun for All Ages: The Sailing Weekend is not just for sailing enthusiasts – it’s for anyone who enjoys coastal vibes, water sports, and a sociable late summer in Breskens.
